Today in class the fabrication group collected all the profiles and inserted them back to back to create a tunnel of our profiles. We also discussed the future and technical aspects of the laser cutter, CNC, and other fabrication tools. It is interesting to find out that the person responsible for the device is the person who requested it. It is that person's responsibility to pass on the knowledge and teach students. I hope that the architecture department receives a laser cutter next year so that students in our department will have complete access to it.
The instillations that we saw today online brought up a lot of discussion in terms of where architecture and the world of art will go. It will be interesting see in 10 years or so the effects of such technical devices like the laser cutter and CNC.
